Literacy Coaching

As a School Improvement Coach for Literacy, I support K-5 students, teachers, and leaders in the implementation of Georgia's new ELA Standards and evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading. I collaborate with administrators and teachers to collect, analyze, and interpret student achievement data to inform instructional decisions, strengthen core instruction, and accelerate student learning outcomes.
My work includes partnering with teachers through classroom-based coaching, demonstration lessons, collaborative planning, co-teaching, observation and feedback cycles, and targeted professional learning. Instructional support may occur in whole-group, small-group, and individualized settings to ensure all students have access to high-quality literacy instruction. Through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), we engage in meaningful collaboration focused on analyzing student work, examining common assessment data, internalizing lessons, maximizing instructional time, and implementing high-impact instructional strategies. Together, we work to ensure instruction is rigorous, engaging, and responsive to student needs. Key areas of focus include:
